Patrice Campbell and Debby Brink

One person’s story can shed light on the history of a place and its community. In this engaging and light-hearted discussion between longtime friends, Patrice Campbell (left) and Debby Brink transport us back to the heyday of Neder’s Café in downtown Washougal, Washington. Debbie’s journey with the café began in 1983 and spanned 30 years. She became the owner in 2004 and ran it until it closed in 2013. Neder’s felt like a family in and of itself, where every customer had their own mug and picture on the wall. This is a must-listen segment, complete with the misadventures of iconic bear statues named George and a movie filmed on location.

This conversation was recorded September 16, 2024 at the Camas Public Library.
