Olivia Behm and Mark Silliman
In 2003, Olivia Behm decided she wanted to expand out of her “tiny life” as a wife and mom and get a job – and not just any job, but one as an artist, doing the kind of creative work she’d loved since childhood. In this segment, she tells her husband, Mark Silliman, about attending a job-seekers’ group and getting referred to Jenny Joyce, an artist at the iconic McMenamins, which is famous throughout the Pacific Northwest for its whimsical hotels, pubs and spas. She called Joyce for some career advice, and what happened next changed her life.
